Research Associate, Respiratory Virology

The Research Associate will work as a member of the Virology Group. He/She will support our respiratory virus preclinical drug discovery programs in a multi-disciplinary fast-paced team environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Development and optimization of cell based antiviral assays in order to profile compounds from multiple programs
  • Communicate results to project teams
  • Proactively review the literature and introduce new approaches and technologies to the group
  • Contribute to the preparation of laboratory reports for regulatory filings

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in relevant scientific discipline
  • 2+ years of virology/drug discovery experience in academia or the pharmaceutical/biotech industry
  • Hands-on experience with a wide range of in vitro virology assays including cytopathic effect assays, plaque assays, quantitative PCR-based assays and reporter gene assays
  • Experience with isolation and purification of RNA
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Experience with respiratory viruses is highly desirable
